Reiki in Japanese means Universal Life or Chi Energy. It is a hands-on technique where the Reiki energy flows through the hands of the Reiki practitioner. A session involves gently applying the hands to the head, torso, back and legs, while one is fully clothed and generally lying down. One typically experiences deep relaxation, a sense of well being and warmth in the area being treated.

I have given Reiki treatments since 1980 after experiencing Reiki to treat my medical problems. I became a Reiki Master in 2002. Today there are over 2 million Reiki practitioners worldwide.

Reiki is established nationally and internationally and is used at hospitals and clinics (California Pacific Medical Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering) for stress/pain reduction and to promote healing. It is increasingly being used by medical professionals, body workers and counselors, among others. Anyone can learn it. It also works exceptionally well on pets.

Based on my experience, I view Reiki as a powerful catalyst for healing. For example, after Reiki sessions, I have seen fevers break, swelling decrease, pain diminish or end and tumors break up.

If you are interested, you can experience Reiki through Reiki sessions and then decide if you want to become a practitioner.
